Using Paint.Net for my Film Poster

I uploaded my newly edited photo to Paint.Net.

I then looking through the font types, taking into account the feedback i was given from my first draft i decided to use a less formal font, so i used Verdana.

I then added my name above the film title Runaway, the reason why i did this is because most film poster sadd the director's and producer's name on the poster.

I then added the tag line for my which is "A Woman's search to find her son...a son's search to find his freedom". I also added the line "Starring the award winnng Sean Beddows. Directed and produced by Richard Beddows".

Using Paint.Net for my Magazine Front Cover

I have decided that for to improve my film magazine front cover using my feedback i am going to do this with Psint.Net. The reason why i have decided to use Paint.Net for my film magazine front cover is because you can completely tranform the image and it makes it look more effective.

Once i opened Paint.Net i then imported my film magazine front cover to Paint.Net so i could make the improvments needed.

When i opened my film magazine front cover i could then started editing it from my audience feedback.

Once i had uploaded the image to Paint.Net because i didn't have a great deal of experience with using the software i had a little play around with it to get familiar with the process.

When I opened the transparencey is was only on 0 so i decided to boost this up to 100because it makes the image more bold and also shows more detail of the image.

I then changed the colour balance to ensure that the red had more dominance in the magazine front cover. Although you will not see much red in the final magazine front cover i need to make the red more domiant to make sure that the tone of colour is exactly right.

I then used curves to make the more bolder effect that i was going for more effective.

After i made the image bolder i then auto leveled the image to make it have more of a black and white effect to it.

Without the text this is what my final magazine poster will look like.

Using my feedback to improve my ancilarys

In my feeback people suggested that i change the lightness of my film poster to create more of an effect. I changed the tone that was used in my poster to match my poster with the trailer, in terms of teasing the audience.

Change the tone of this image make the viewer really look at the image to find out what it could be about, it also gives the viewer a deeper insight to what the film could be about.

In my feedback people also gave me different advise on how to improve my magazine front cover. I will take onboard all the advise that has been given to me and apply it to my film magazine front cover.

When looking back over my film magazine front cover it straight away became obvious to me that it was lacking much need detail to make it look more realistic. I will also seprate the image from the background to create layers which most film magazine front covers have.

To add different effects to both my film magazine front cover page and my film poster i will use either Paint.Net or www.picknik.com to get the best effects and make both my magazine front cover and my film psoter more detailed.

Using my feedback for my Ancillarys

This is the film poster for American Psycho. With my feedback for my film poster one of my e-mail contacts suggested taking advise from this film poster; American Psyscho. Although the "American" part of the title is very simplistic similar to my film poster; Runaway, i could take insperation from the "Pyscho" part. Although i would not use this font directly, i could change the font from Times New Roman to a more effective font.

This is the film magazine; Total Film that is advertising Harry Potter. With this film magazine the image is layered with the different text that is included in the magazine poster. Because the backgroud colour is bright red, the white text also has a red outline to it, so therefore it makes it look different to my magazine front cover because my magazine front covet is the whole image across the whole page, on reflection this makes my magazine front cover look more professional like it could be a magazine front cover that is on the current film magazine market.

I particularly like this film magazine front cover because it has the more of an effect. Comparing my film magazine to this film magazine of Max Payne mine is more bland and does not stand out where with the image in Max Payne jumps out at you and makes it look very effective. Although this film magazine front cover uses darker colours the yelloe titles of what else is included in the film magazine stands out asw well as the image.

How to get audience feedback on my ancillary products

Now that i have created my first drafts for my anillary products i need to find out what my protential audience think about them. The best way for me to get audience feedback is to e-mail the poster and magazine front cover to different people in my e-mail contacts and ask them to send me back their views and opinions on how they think i can improve my ancillary products.

With the film poster people e-mailed me with advise to use for how they would like to see the film poster compared to other film posters that have been on the market already.

"You should make the film poster darker, as currently you can see the image in the poster in detail, it will make it look more interesting if you have to think about what is happening in the film poster it will make it more interesting".

"The text is bold simplistic style, i rarely see this in film posters as they have little details added to them, like films American Psycho, although this is a psyscholgical thriller film you could still take insperation from the way the film title lay out".

"There is not alot of of imformation of the fim poster try including the main editors, supporting actors, dirtor, producer, screen writer and any other key crew members".

"Nearly every single film poster that i have seen contains the film certificate on it".

With the film magazine people also e-mailed me with advise about how i can improve the film magazine front cover to make it look more similar to film magazine front covers that are currently on the market.

"The film magazine is very basic and although it does include some information about what else is inside the film magazine".

"Include more layers in your film magazine front cover similar to what Total Film Magazine use".

"On the magazine include your films tag line".

"The film magazine does not really say what the film is about, you could do this by trying to isolate the main image with a different background".
